Curriculum Vitae
Katalin Prajda earned her Ph.D. from the European University Institute. Her research has been supported by the Villa I Tatti, The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies, the University of Chicago, the Institute for Advanced Study, Central European University, and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. She studies the co-evolution of diplomacy, migration, arts, and society in early Renaissance Italy with a focus on migration and cultural exchange. Her first monograph, Network and Migration in Early Renaissance Florence, 1378-1433: Friends of Friends in the Kingdom of Hungary (Amsterdam University Press, 2018) explores the role of social networks in cultural exchanges from an interdisciplinary perspective. Her second book manuscript, awaiting for publication and tentatively entitled Cross-Cultural Exchanges and their Social Networks between the Italian States and the Kingdom of Hungary in the Early Renaissance, ca.1340-1490. discusses patterns and trends in the intensification of connectivity between the Kingdom of Hungary and the various states of the Italian Peninsula. She is currently working on the re-evaluation of the history of Trieste and Istria in the Middle Ages.
